Abstract

So You Want To Improve? Improvement is not part of the game–it is the game today. Everyone wants things to change for the better. Top management wants employees to stop making so many errors.  Engineering wants marketing to give them better forecasts.  Marketing wants sales to improve their sales record. Sales wants manufacturing to produce better products so they will be easier to sell.

Everyone wants everyone else to change, but too often they are unwilling to change themselves.  You can no longer wait for someone else to change.  The improvement process must start with you. The question is: How does an organization make the process work for them?  There are many approaches.  Suddenly there are hundreds of consultants knocking on management's door with the single right answer for you, and they are all different and in some ways the same.
