Hart House is one of the centerpieces of the U of T’s St. George campus. Completed in 1919, it was a gift from the Massey family, wealthy Toronto industrialists and prominent philanthropists.
The prize winning Gothic structure is built of Credit Valley hammer finished sandstone and Indiana limestone. Constructed directly over the submerged Taddle Creek, massive foundations were required for support.
This evening will commence with drinks in the grand foyer and adjacent patio overlooking the central quad. Guests will then move into the Great Hall which features a soaring ceiling, stained glass windows, and walls painted with a passage from Milton’s oration.
The Gala Dinner is included in the registration fee for full conference attendees. Conference attendees may bring a guest for a cost of $65.00. Non-conferees are welcome to attend, space available, at a cost of $100.00. Please see the conference registration form.
