Congress theme:
Quality in healthcare and lessons from other industries

The theme is to pick up the understanding of quality and business improvement practices from manufacturing industries and provide a better insight into the theoretical and practices streams and approaches applicable to service industries, particularly in health care sectors, that emerged from the findings of research papers presented at the first and the second Canadian Quality Congress held in Vancouver and Toronto respectively.

Call for Papers

Those who wish to present a paper or join a panel discussion topics related to the Congress theme are required to submit their abstracts and proposals in 100 to 200 words along with a brief resume and contact details.

Papers are welcome not only from academic research scholars in the relevant field of healthcare quality management, but also from practitioners on leadership issues, cost reduction, business strategies, human resource development and knowledge management – including those from the multi-disciplinary areas of TQM that are applicable to manufacturing industries, government, education and non-profit organizations and related tools and techniques.

Priority will be given to best practices and case studies applications that have resulted in measurable bottom line results.

Deadlines: The deadline for Abstract submission is: January 31st, 2011 and the final manuscript is due no later than February 28th, 2011.

The “first” inaugural Canadian Quality Congress was launched in Vancouver, BC; at the University of British Columbia, August 19-21, 2009 The “second” Canadian Quality Congress was held at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, August 23-25, 2010

Total Quality Research Foundation (TQRF) Canada is hosting the event. Close to 200 Canadian and international delegates from 25 countries around the world attended each of the previous event. The theme of the first Congress was: Focus on Future: Quality, Innovation and Social Responsibility while for second Congress the theme was: Quality and Competitiveness for Sustained Performance.
